Teacher of the Year 2024-2025

Laura Ceasar has been a teacher at JHW for three years. She teaches eighth grade ELA and is a part of various committees and sports. She is the girls head basketball coach and the girls track assistant coach, she is also an assistant coach for the Abbeville High girls basketball team. She is also a part of the PBIS committee and head of the student of the month committee. She is married to Charles Ceasar Sr. and they have two kids together, Amelia and Cade Ceasar. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and closest friends, making memories with her husband and kids, shopping with her sister, watching her favorite tv series and sports teams compete, reading when time allows, and when she’s not busy doing all that and more, she enjoys sleeping the most.

From Mrs. Ceasar:

This a full circle moment for me as I too once walked the hallways of JHW having been taught by some of the greatest teachers who inspired me to return here as an educator to not only be a teacher but a mentor, leader, and advocate for the kids of our community. I wake up every day and go hard at my job and for these kids because one I love them and two, they too matter and are capable of accomplishing greater things now and in the future and they need to know that. I am honored and so grateful for this recognition and I wouldn’t rather be anywhere else. As once said by my former principal David Dupuis, “Once a Wildcat, Always a Wildcat!”
