J.H. Williams Welcomes New Assistant Principal
J.H. Williams Middle School is proud to announce the appointment of Justin Simon as our new Assistant Principal. With a strong foundation in education and a deep commitment to student success, Mr. Simon brings a wealth of experience and a passion for inspiring excellence.
A proud graduate of Abbeville High School, Mr. Simon earned a Bachelor's degree in Instrumental Music Education in 2008, followed by a Master's in Educational Leadership, both from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. This school year marks his 16th in education, with 15 of those years spent as a dedicated and accomplished band director. He has led award-winning ensembles in both Acadia and Vermilion Parishes, nurturing student talent and instilling a love of music across all grade levels—from elementary through high school. As well as teaching a guitar club and the first Lache Pas class at J.H. Williams alongside Mr. Abshire.
Mr. Simon's journey in education began in Church Point and continued in Acadia Parish’s 9th Ward, finally bringing him home to Vermilion Parish, as the band director at JHW. Most recently, he served as Dean of Students here at J.H. Williams, where he quickly became a valued member of the school community.
“For me, J.H. Williams isn’t just a school—it’s home,” Mr. Simon shared. “The spirit of this campus, the dedication of the staff, and the potential in every student make this a truly special place.”
As Assistant Principal, he hopes to leave a lasting legacy rooted in empowerment and perseverance. “My goal is to help every student believe in their ability to achieve greatness. With hard work and determination, anything is possible.”
Outside of school, Mr. Simon enjoys spending quality time with his wife and children as well as close friends. Whether playing music, camping with the Scouts, or simply enjoying the outdoors, he brings the same energy and joy to his personal life that he brings to education.
